The Bath Framer | Artisan Framing in the Heart of our City

We love to work with local businesses...

So we'd like to introduce you to The Bath Framer.

Based on London Road in Bath, Kelly Ann Perry is the artisan behind some stunning framing work. Everything that comes out of her workshop is hand made there to her exacting standards, and we are very happy clients. Kelly's work hangs very proudly on the walls of our photography studio in Corsham.

Kelly, and her assistant Lizzy, have a striking premises in Bath, full of retro and antique artefacts in the front, and a busy workshop at the back. The work they produce there ranges from paintings and photographs to medals, clothing and antiques: all the work is bespoke and completed to the very highest standards.

We caught up with Kelly, who told us a bit about her background and approach to her work. Kelly started out in the business by working in her local framer's at the age of 15: this quickly became a Saturday job and finally a full-time position in the business. At the age of 18 Kelly gained the Fine Art Trades Guild Framer qualification, and was the youngest recipient at the time. This training ensured that had a real understanding of framing techniques and was able to undertake all aspects of the job at the highest level.

We asked about how Kelly goes about working with artists or photographers. "It's mainly what the client wants! But an item should always be framed in a sympathetic way, and I take into consideration the interior where it will be hung. Both aspects are equally important".

We got talking about inspirational work she has done. "We were privileged to have been approached by Studio 31 to undertake the framing of eight prints by Sebastiao Salgado. They were exhibited at the Bath Royal and Literary and Scientific Institution in Queen Square. They were beautiful!". Asked about what inspires her, Kelly told us "All sorts really! Pleasing my customers, seeing some stunning pieces of art work, and being able to be creative every day". Sounds good to me.

Kelly's work really is gorgeous and she comes very highly recommended by us: find out more at www.thebathpictureframer.co.uk
